We went to the Family Day at the Getty where they had tons of art activities for the children to participate in. It had a Japanese theme and the kids absolutely loved it! Here we are on the tram up the the museum.

Calista loves the front carrier. In the tram on the way up!

We watched some really great storytellers out in the courtyard and the sun was so strong. It was so nice because the museum brought out huge buckets of umbrellas for us to sit under for free. Calista loved holding onto the umbrella.

Here are the storytellers. The guy in the green hair is the ogre of the river directing his river stones (children). They also had Japanese dancers and amazing drummers that performed in the day. The kids loved them all!

Here is the storyteller's telling a sumo wrestling story. The little girl being held back is our friend's daughter. She was hilarious to watch!

The museum has a family art room that is so cool. They have masks to make and things to interact with. The kids absolutely loved it. This is a royal looking bed replica of the one in the museum that the kids can jump on and read books on.

This is a room where you can cross and connect tubes all over. It is a replica of the sculpture at the front entrance to the museum.

Matthew agreed to take a picture. He can be stubborn... I don't know where he gets it from!

These walls are replicas of the Old English books on display that are all written out and hand drawn. They have dry erase markers to draw on the books and make your own designs.

Ian drawing on the wall and not getting in trouble!

They had these tables that have pictures that you put paper over and can trace. It had all types of insects and plants to trace. The boys thought this was so cool and spend so much time tracing everything on the table!

After the museum we rested a little, then packed up the car and went to the drive-in! We saw Monsters vs. Aliens and Hotel for Dogs. We took out all the seats in the back of our van and filled the back with blankets and pillows galore! We all had so much fun!
